My Story
Friday 26th SeptemberWe are looking forward to hosting our Macmillan Coffee Morning, which holds a deeper meaning for us this year. Just two weeks after last year’s event, our wonderful project manager Alison was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout surgeries, radiotherapy and drug therapies, Ali showed extraordinary strength - continuing to work and inspiring us all. We’re thrilled she’s now through the other side and embracing life to the fullest. She has kindly agreed to help me host this year and is happy to chat with anyone who’d like to hear her story. Thank you to Stem & Green for once again donating flowers, which we’ll arrange into small, gorgeous bouquets. These can be collected in return for a donation, and if you know you’d like to buy an arrangement or two please do let me know in advance. On the day, expect the return of our popular “paint chip” raffle, an abundance of cakes and coffee, and a 10% donation from all home and gift purchases made in the studio. Our neighbour Caroline at CB Boutique is also joining in with a 10% donation from her sales on the day too.We feel so lucky to be part of such a supportive community, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible to try and beat last year's total. If you can’t join you can still donate here.___________________Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so your contribution is essential to ensure they can provide practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer when they need it. Right now, there are more than 3 million people in the UK living with cancer. Donations from Coffee Mornings make a vital difference, helping Macmillan continue their services so people can find their best way through, from the moment they're diagnosed, through treatment and beyond. Thank you for your kind donation. It will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer live life as fully as they can. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
