My Story
We are hosting a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at Whitegate Farm - a coffee morning with a difference! Dancing horses and hobby horse jumping, and the opportunity to meet Paralympian Georgia Wilson and hold her medals from Paris! Everyone is welcome!
This year's Coffee Morning is even more important to me personally.
In April I was diagnosed with melanoma on my right temple - thankfully caught early and Stage 1. It was able to be removed with a surgery to my face - requiring a skin graft from my neck.
Jeni Jones, my Macmillan Nurse, was the most incredible support. She really listened and treated me as an individual, providing an essential support link between me and the surgical team.
When you are told you have cancer you don't really hear the rest of the words being spoken by the doctor - and Jeni was with me from that first meeting with the dermatology consultant. She also attended my Maxillo Facial consultant meeting. Her support was invaluable.
Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so your contribution is essential to ensure they can provide practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer when they need it. Right now, there are more than 3 million people in the UK living with cancer. Donations from Coffee Mornings make a vital difference, helping Macmillan continue their services so people can find their best way through, from the moment they're diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.
In our Macmillan Quadrille display on 28th Sept we also have two amazing inspirational cancer warriors riding - 12 year old Max and our lovely friend Sioned.
We hope you can come along to cheer the Macmillan Quadrille and Pas de Deux (Francesca and I!) on. But if you can't be there, PLEASE PLEASE donate anyway. We have set ourselves a huge target and would love to meet it!
Thank you so very much for your donation. Remember, it will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer live life as fully as they can.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Macmillan Cancer Support. And you can track our fund raising progress on this page.
Thank you thank you thank you!
