Coffee Morning Date

27 October 2024

My Story

I'm hosting a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support! Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so your contribution is essential to ensure they can provide practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer when they need it.

I'm Bev from Nottingham Quaker Meeting and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 2022. Macmillan have been a great support to me on many fronts. I was able to ring their support line to discuss my operation which reassured me. When I was going through my chemo and radiotherapy they provided me with a buddy who I could talk to about my treatment on a regular basis. Once I was through the treatment a worker came and assessed my needs and provided both practical and social support for me that I was very grateful for. I was also offered six free counselling sessions. In all my dealings with Macmillan they were very kind and caring. They are a great organisation and I hope you will contribute to them to enable them to continue this important work.

Right now, there are more than 3 million people in the UK living with cancer. Donations from Coffee Mornings make a vital difference, helping Macmillan continue their services so people can find their best way through, from the moment they're diagnosed, through treatment and beyond. Thank you for your kind donation. It will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer live life as fully as they can. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
